Its not just about buying the same game in HD and them making a quick buck off it. I see it as a chance to get some games that i may have missed first time around.
I tell ya, I’m sick to my back teeth of idiots spouting off about HD remasters like they’re evil… «but they’re old games, they should be making new games…waah». What these people have failed to even do is find out who are making these games. Do you think Sony Santa Monica made the God of War HD Collection? Do you think Team Ico made the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection? Do you think Konami made the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection? Well no, smart arses, they never. All of the above and more were made by a company called Bluepoint Games, which is what they do… they are a remastering expert. A small company not able or capable of making new games, who just stick to what they do best – they remaster old games for big developers who are then free to work on… yes, you guessed it, NEW GAMES for current generation hardware. So no one is losing out here, everyone wins. People who missed these classics and don’t own a PS2 get to play them (or people who don’t want to play SD games on HD screens as they look awful), and the people who just want to play them again in HD with higher frame rates get to play them again. The company who makes it makes money, the company who OWNS the license (the original developer) makes money… and the original developer’s hands are free to make new games while companies like Bluepoint remaster their HD collections for them. So for the life of me will you tell me what the feckin’ell you are moaning for? If you don’t wish to buy or play them, you don’t have to. Therefore you have no right opening your mouths on the subject. Period.
